Does anyone know of any historical evidence for Cavaliers visiting Woolton and/or Gateacre? I'm getting a fair few ghostly reports from that neck of the woods but I can't find the history to back them up so far.
Cheers

For what it is worth. As a child in the 1950s I was told that the Cockshead farm was used by the roundheads as a base. I remember the farm but it was torn down in the 60s to build on the farmland.

Coxhead farm didn't exist in the days of the Cavaliers and Roundheads. I believe it was built around 1798. I lived there from just after I was born in 1938 until 1950 and never heard of anything like that.
