And for all the 'old map' lovers out there, here's another interesting one. It's hard to locate 'Coxhead Farm' on this map, but it does show many of the changes which had occurred between 1768 and circa 1850 in the Little Woolton/Gateacre area... "Little Woolton Township Boundaries 645 - Little Woolton This map is extracted from: Kain, R.J.P., Oliver, R.R., Historic Parishes of England and Wales: an Electronic Map of Boundaries before 1850 with a Gazetteer and Metadata [computer file]. Colchester, Essex: History Data Service, UK Data Archive [distributor], 17 May 2001. SN: 4348. Acknowledgement is made to R.J.P. Kain, R.R Oliver, the Economic and Social Research Council, the History Data Service and the UK Data Archive." Area 645 on the old maps of Little Woolton, is where Coxhead farm stood. On the map 645 it narrows from where the wider area meets the railway line, note the boundary area to the right of the railway line which is inside Sandy Lane, Sandy Lane ran from Cuckoo Lane to Hedgefield Road, turning 90o near Coxhead farm. There is a dark marking on the bend, this is Coxhead farm. (appears to show 2 buildings) Brings back many good memories.

Some interesting reading John. Thanks for your input. I will be back in Gatacre in August 2023, and will take a look around, and check out the changes. Tom
