Hi there, my great-great-great uncle is Cecil Harding. You are right that Cecil and Mary lived at The Lodge until his death in 1992. I have many of his personal papers many regarding the history of Gateacre. Are you conected to Cecil at all? Did you know him?

Hi
I have only just seen this thread. Cecil was my great uncle, his sister Gertrude being my grandmother. Jodie, if you are a Byrne then you must be from Mary's side of my family? My dad took their wedding photographs at the now demolished Gorsey Cop farm opposite the Lodge and earlier at the catholic church in woolton.
Kaiser - given that you have Cecil's papers are you in fact Daniel?

I think that the Harding family did NOT live in Grange Lodge, as Mrs. Sylvia Lewis lived there in the 1990's. There were some other large houses by Cuckoo Lane/Grange Lane, they may have lived in one of those. Could anyone confirm that Cecil Turner lived in the above area, and that I think the Harding family were connected to the Turner family. I know of a Mr. Harding Hunt who lived in Gateacre also. Is this of any help. Let me know please. Joan Borrowscale

Hello - I have found a George Harding on the 1911 census with his youngest son Cecil aged 1 year. The address given was Rocky Lane, Childwall. George was the Manager of the local Gas Works. Later I think he lived in the lodge at the corner of Grange Lane, and Gateacre Park Drive - still there, and lived in. Sorry for my error previously. I had the wrong family. Joan
