just happened on this - fantastic (don't know if I've jumped in in the right place! We moved from Toxteth in 1959, to Gorsey Cop Road - like someone said earlier in the memories string (I've read right thro'!) it was like moving to Wonderland - fields, railway embankment at the end of the block, jacksons pond, no houses only fields on the hill facing the Comp. loads of kids all in the same circumstances and on and on.....great. I went to Craighurst and then to the Comp, in '62. AJ Horrocks was my form teacher for a few years. In the messages I've read I have seen Miss Atkinson (Biology) Mr. Owen (English) Mr. Longworth (French) Mr. Edwards (PE) - how about Jimmy Dewsnip (Metalwork but best remembered for the footy I think), Mr. Liddel (History & also the footy team) - and so many more if I could remember. Just reading some of the names that people have mentioned (pupils and all) is great. I can honestly say it was fantastic growing up on the Estate and going to the Comp. Some names I remember well are Fred Witter (still my mate to this day) Frank Turner, Steve Smith, Steven Gorse, Robert Demain, Geoff Carradice, Malcolm Barfoot, Susam Gould, Phyllis Irving, Morma Jenkins - stop me I could go on forever!! Please, if anybody remembers or knows these guys - let's know.

I used to know an Irene Gorse, don't know if she was any relation to your Steven Gorse, she went to school with me at Rudston road CP school in Childwall.
Big welcome to the forum.

I also just chanced upon this site.
I hope it may bring back some memories and even create contact with old friends.
We lived in a prefab in Bridgefield Road until about 1967 when we moved to Chislehurst Avenue.
My mother was a dinner lady at St. Peter's in Woolton and later at OLA Junior School.
I was quite well known around Belle Vale, Gateacre and Childwall Valley so I hope someone recognises the name and gets in touch.
