does anyone remember the Clinic on Stellamore Road, the smell was terrifying, they had a Dentist (horrid) and we had our jabs there it also had a counter where you could buy dried Milk and orange for babies. I remember the nursing sister can't remember her name but we would often see her riding one of Jim Blundells horses down grange land.

Hi ejjdp
Yes I remember the clininc, I had my very first tooth extraction done there, scared me to death the old gas. Had a horror of dentists for life. Although we had no babies in the house my mum used to buy the orange juice. I loved it used to drink it neat from the bottle. Used to buy my sweets from the papershop on the way back from Mass at Our Ladies Church.

I remember only too well the Dentist at the Clinic. Also the awful smell of disinfectant which permeated the air in the place. It was hard as a child to even imagine that a visit there was for your own good.
Oh what joy when Dr. Huxley (I think that was his name) opened the dental surgery in Lee Park. He would entertain the kids whilst working on their teeth by doing his Donald Duck impression.

Ah - Yes the CLINIC!!!
I remember going there for dental treatment. I think I was 10 years old. I sat myself in the chair and then decided (NO WAY JOSE)! When the dentist turned away (I think his name was Mr Gould), I hot-tailed out of there and hid at the back of the shops - My mum wasn't too happy at the time. I did however like going there to pick-up the rationed orange juice.

i too remember the clinic, they were butchers there, they took a tooth half out on me when i was about seven, i had a weekend of agony through their incompetence, my mum never took me there again, she then took me to the dentist on the corner, but the bad memories made them not much better in my eyes.,i cant think of the dentists name but it was on the corner of gateacre brow and halewood road, i can recall a mr tatham but thats all.

Hi,I remember the clinic, the dentist shoved something bewteen my teeth and forced that horrible black gas mask over my face.Tried to used the public phone box out-side only to be chased by some adult who would not allow children to use the phone.Told my parents what had happened so any more treatment was at Tathams in the village.I am sure he watered down the substance he injected into my gum as I could feel everything, finally found a good dentist in Lee Park,TTFN

hi I loved Mr Tatham, he would call you poppet or sausage and i found him very caring, but it still didn't stop the gas from freaking me out and feeling sick for days after.

i only remember going to that dentist once, horrendous, big black gas mask just plonked over your face, nearly being held down, must have put kids off dentists for many years.
