New to the site and its stirred lots of memories , we moved to Lee Park in 56 from town and were some of the first families on the lee park estate I know because I played in the houses while they were being built ! we lived on belle vale road opposite the park which you were not allowed to go in at the risk of being chased by billy tinwhistle, never understood why they were so keen to keep us out ! we played around jacksons pond and we walked all over with our dogs even as far as Widnes . the only shops were crosbys , ma guys and a small group of two or three up wambo lane ,I Wonder if anyone remembers those ?the coop near the railway and hedgfield road . There where a few on the other side of the valley road too, we went to the baths in woolton and the pics too often asking to be taken in if you needed to be with an adult! chips from the chippy in woolton were they gave you fish scraps if they had any ( which was just batter) the outside terrace and stairs of the bridge inn made a great pretend castle, I went to belle vale school then to OLA juniors as soon as it opened then on to the seniors leaving in 64 , later on there was a sweet van that came around once or twice a week selling pop etc. I can probably name most of the people that lived on belle vale road and quite a few from lee park too. Like quite a few I moved away from Liverpool and after living abroad now live in Somerset.
