:)Hi everyone. We, the Taylors lived at No. 32 Lineside Road. There was mum and dad, my 2 brothers Michael and Terry and me Wendy. We lived there until 1955/56 when we moved to Stamfordham Drive in Allerton. Mum & dad kept chickens in the garden and I can still smell their feed now. A lady called Mary lived opposite us, and I remember Sylvia Blackstone too. I went to St Stephens School and in 1961 went to Gateacre Comp (hated it). I remember having to pass a farm on the way to school and the geese used to chase us. Our Doctor was Dr. Ellenbogen too. We always had Maypole dancing in the school yard in May, we dressed up. I remember one boy dressed as a Golliwog and he dropped his jar of jam on the yard. Happy Days!

Hi Wendy, my name is Ken Johnson, and I lived in Hedgefield rd, and attended JW., then Chiselhurst for a year then the dreaded Comp( I hated it too, so strict!) then in 60 /61 moved to Macketts lane, but remember Ellenbogan, and the old Belle Vale Labour Club, Innocent carefree days though played in safety.

I (Alistair Parker) lived at 28 Lineside Road from 1943 to 1953. We also move to Allerton, Hardinge Road. I am currently researching the Belle Vale Prefabs as part of a PhD thesis about snapshot photography. Sadly I can not remember the names of any of our immediate neighbours...

Interestingly, my doctor was Dr.Ellenbogan also, your post bought back some memories. Lineside Road was a great place, the swings & slide, roundabout etc. All my friends lived in the same street, as well as my relatives. I lived on Coxhead farm, which was 200 yards away. Such a pity the council purchased the lands for development.
