Hi Maxie,
Just watched the video explaining in detail the new school. Bit different from the place we attende all those years back. Wouldn't mind a visit before it opens in September if possible. Might deop the deputy head a line and see if she can arrange. Would be better if as many of the class of 58 could get together and have a preview.
Take care mate.

Hello Alexadam, my name is Ken Johnson, and I went to the Comp at the same time as you, after a year in middle school at Chiselhurst, I remember the teachers you are talking about, and cannot believe what they used to get away with, they would be locked up now, can,t agree with you on Edwards, to me he was just anther bully to contend with, I haed him then and still do, I wonder do you remember Miss Kerr, the deputy head of the girls, she was also formidable and the girls were terrified of her, shame I have nothing positive to say about my time there, but do remember Grant Mcculloch, and an uunbelievable footballer who could have had the world at his feet but he was a waste of space his name was George Moon, now currently ensconced in her Majestys prison where he has wasted half his life, Unbelievable, anyway nice to converse with someone from that era.

Hi Maxie I also remember Mr Adams - I had double maths straight after Assembly - He use to cane the boys in the corridor. He also use to make me sit in the bin at the front of the class and he'd keep the classroom door wedged open and everyone use to laugh at me when they walked past the door. He went onto West Derby Tech and was Deputy Head there - they nicknamed him Gomez!! I also remember Mr Bernicoff - he use to teach History - he was always lookin out the window - I never learnt a thing!! Til next time.....

I knew stan gwilt well he joined the first Tank Regiment in 1968, I have a picture of him by our broken down tank in Libya. He went on his first annual leave from Osnabruck in Germany in 69 and never came back he was posted as AWOL and we never heard anymore about him. A good bloke, and I often wondered what he got up too.

I remember Adams, also Mr Green the maths teacher, Miss Beddoes, RE, nice woman, had a deformed small finger. Guys I went to school with were Jimmy Senior, Ronnie Moses, Derek Darbyshire, Peter Faragher and Andrew Ferguson. The school bully then used to live near the bridge at the old railway station. I lived in Churchfiled Road. Guy called Joey Mannix was a friend of mine. Anyone know these ppl.
